The mask mandate will expire at midnight on March 25th, 2022, per the governors announcement on March 8th. This means that once you land in Hawaii and remove your mask outside of the airport, that the State of Hawaii will not require you to wear a mask during your stay.
It will be as if things have returned to normal
regarding COVID during your visiting.
You will not be required to mask up again until you arrive at the airport for your departing flight, per the CDC guidelines.
On the same date, travelers will no longer be required to upload a negative COVID test result or copy of your vaccination card to arrive into Hawaii, as the safe travels program will have come to an end as well.
Note that any of these programs could be reinstated if cases increase in the future. If you are immunocompromised or have other health issues, you may continue to wear a mask if you choose to do so. It is still your option.
Some businesses may continue to ask you to wear a mask when visiting their establishment, please respect their wishes.
